Auto hubs not working in the cold

A little cool in Alberta this AM ( -30 C ). I heard of this problem before on other Superdutys that the auto hubs won't engage when it is cold. I experienced this problem on my way to work. I am lucky that I have auto/manual hubs and I got out and locked the hubs and everything worked. Is there a preventative maintenance procedure or fix to ensure that the auto hub isn't prone to freeezing ?

i've noticed the hublock solonoids have a problem with moisture buildup,i wonder if a air line a/f could work?

a moments silence for the shelbyx,i hope her new owner enjoys as much.

on big rigs they use air line antifreeze to keep the lines open in the cold weather.(methyl hydrate i believe)

I had an 05 that was like that every winter. I had it to the dealer a few times but no resolution. I ended up just leaving it in manual during the extreme cold temps.

I hope my 2011 is better...haven't had the extreme cold yet...only been to -20C.
