93 Bronco w/96 PSD E4OD

well its been in the works since last summer, got the 5.0 /AOD/BW1356 and front axle out on sunday, brought the 7.3PSD/E4OD donor vehicle home last weekend. had been looking/advertising since mid December. took some pics of the powertrain removal, putting a diesel front crossmember in this week>>>> by Friday and modifying the firewall to fit/clearance an oversize aftermarket turbo down pipe in. putting new under rocker cover harness' into the motor before I pull it.

have to find a nice diesel rad support or repair the present one. new pics will be coming, hope to have it on the road before moving day July 5 .
still undecided on using a 31spline 9" rear and more choices of wheels, or using the 10.25 rear and 8bolt twin I beam from the donor truck.

15" tires/wheels are a lot cheaper than 16 LT wheels/tires but can't carry as much weight for sure.

drop I beams and spring under in the plans but not this summer, maybe over this winter?

cheers James

ok fellow Fordtough members................I can't figure out how to post pics here or even start up a new album and post pics in it.

hey I'm old and have a bad memory, but my new job has made me regress into MSdos 80's computer programs so i'm lost now,D'OH.

Go to your profile James, click "Show All Albums", when you get there, "Add Album" should be in the lower left corner.

Load up your pics, right click over the pic, copy the address.

Go to the post, click the mountain on a yellow postcard and paste.

Or load the pics up and give a shout, someone will post them.

If you want the long version….

Well i'm going to try again at the pics, but had some positive developments this week. replaced the under rocker cover harness' and replaced 1 connector in the engine harness and it runs good and engine lite is out now. AC even works.

I think i will keep the truck together and stick a 5spd in it, will make a good beater. I have another powerstroke with only 205,000km on it so I will use the trans and engine compartment harness from this truck and put it in the bronco with the low km motor.

am going to drive it around a bit and make sure the trans is ok before I pull it for the bronco.

I'll have another go at the pics.

well I've been hacked by something!

I am using my brother's laptop today to access emails. can't access any of my pics for a while, getting a friend in to help me try and save stuff from our hard drive, and I think we are going to get an Acer laptop from future shop. more usefull than our old PC and can hook all our stuff up to it anyhow.

wont' be any new pics up for a while.

cheers James

well we are back online, bought a new tower instead of a laptop.
got hooked up yesterday, found a truck to look at last nite .
today I made a trade for parts I had and was going to just about give away.
a 96 F350 7.3psd E4OD 2wd hadn't run for 1.5 yrs, fired up with 2 batteries and about 10 seconds of cranking. very cool!!!!!!
traded for an NP203 remote Tcase, a 79 F150 supercab(cab only) and a decent seat for his 77 highboy. he might even buy some parts off me after we sort it out.
I would have brought the 96 home today but the trailer is covered in old shingle and roofing bits so it won't be until this coming weekend. \

I've been driving the blue donor truck to work a few weeks and its getting 22-24mpg so now I think its going to be my daily until we get moved, barney needs a lot of work to safety it again(not including major bodywork).

cheers James, good to be back online again

having our final viewing on June 20th, we were informed the tenant and trailer are gone and they asked if we wanted the meter and hookup left there. has 2 services and meters . we want it left there to hook up my new shop to.

take possession July 2nd, after school is out. we will be moving before our place is sold. getting tired of an hour commute each way to work. after the move it will only be 6km and takes me about 6minutes driving.

wife is getting excited and so am I . finally a place of our own away from the family......................no drop ins anymore, over an hour away.

cheers james
