Looking into new rubber ?

Hey folks been a while since I've posted but time to get some new tires now.

Been running Yokohama prada spec-x tires 305/40R-22 for the last 3 summers and not really impressed. Had some cupping issues and tires seem to be wear quick. I guess I should have rotated more often.

Looking at getting into the Nitto NT 420S and going with a 285/45 22 just to keep things a bit smaller.

Does anyone have any feedback to offer on the Nitto NT 420S and that size ??

Yokohama Parada Spec-X got a 8.4 rating at Tire Rack....second highest. The highest rated tire is the Firestone Destination ST (8.7 score)...price looks decent in it's group.

Nitto is listed at 1010tires.com

I think my issue is running such a large tire has its fall backs in tire wear.

Discount tire from the USA has great prices so Im going to ship them to the boarder and pick them up myself

The Nitto's offer 3 sizes..
Same size im now running 305/40R/22 are $192.00 each
or there's the 285/45/22 at $212.00 each
or the 285/40/22 at $218.00 each

Anyone recommendations on above sizes Im leaning towards the 285/45/22 to get a bit more sidewall ???

Thumbs up

I change to Firestone Destination AT's with good results. These work very well in snow, wet roads, gravel and a bit of mud. It did get better ratings on most web sites I looked at. The Pirelies I had where not that great and it started to get cracks around the bead. Big difference with these tires as I did get them replaced in Feb. of this year. No complaints so far ...
