19.5 Tires

Hello everyone out there, I need to buy new tires as the ones on my F450 are noisy and ride horrific. They are aggresive block pattern drive tires all around. For now all I can afford is to replace the two fronts. What I would like to know is the difference between "all Position" and "steer tires". I would like to get somewhat a mud and snow type tire that is good for the front wheels and are not too noisy. As I am buying just two tires price is not an issue, quality, handling, and ride are more important. I tow a 34' Mobile Suites 5the wheel @ 18,ooo lbs. Im confused with all the tire options out there ( open block, closed block) etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I think most of the tire shops just want to sell me tires and get me out the door. Thanks

I'll ask my uncle in the morning about the difference between the two. Not sure where best place would be to buy them out your way though.

You lost me when you said you could only afford to replace the two front tires, and then turned around and said because you were just buying two, price is not an issue, it was about quality, handling and ride.

Steer tires aren't made to grab any material.
Go look at a transport and examine their front tires. They are rubber with a couple straight lines that run all the way around the tire, used just to steer you. Put them on the back and they will just spin because they can't grab anything.

I think open block is more aggressive and will be noisier. Closed will be strictly highway, dry pavement.

Little bit of reading.

What everybody else said. Plus the steer tires have a heavier sidewall.

It's an F-450. Get used to it. 19.5's are medium truck tires. They're meant for loading. Load the truck down a little more and throw in new shocks. And turn the radio up.
