Possible new wheels

I've been searching for almost a year now for a set of 16" black rims that I like that come in that damn 5x135 bolt pattern. I found a set I liked but I didn't have the $$ at the time but now they don't make them anymore so getting a replacement if one gets damaged could be a PITA so I skipped them.
I've seen these wheels for a while but since they are only in 17s or 18s I passed on them. But the more I looked at them the more they grew on me. After doing some figuring with the tire size calculator I've pretty much decided on these 17s with 275/60/17 tires, this will keep my gear ratio and speedo almost the same as it is now.

Only thing I will have to get changed will be the pin stripe. I just dont think the red will look good with a green truck.

They have these in 18s but I like the yellow strip so I think I'll just get the red painted over with the yellow.

Any thoughts? I know we talked about these rims briefly before Gordon, I think the red would look good with your truck, the ones you have now have a red stripe dont they?

Whaddya mean I dont pay my bills?? Whydya think I'm broke!!

Just a thought, if you're going to replace the rims and I'm assuming new rubber, why not go for either a 17" or 18" set? More rim and less rubber would look great, I prefer the second choice of rim, they're 'beefier' looking.

They are beefier looking but going to 18s will cost me even more lost MPG, HP and $$ because in order to keep all the ratios/speedo info the same as now I'd have to go with 285/55R18 tires and I can't get that size in the tire I want. What is available in that size is about $100 more per tire than the 17s I want, so I'd rather spend $160 more for the set of 17s and $100 less per tire. I don't think it will cost much to have that stripe painted a different colour.

But I do agree that the 18s look tougher and if money wasn't an issue I'd go 18s so until I win the lotter I'll have to compromise with the 17s

After doing more research and getting ideas from others, it looks like its gonna be the 18s. I can put 255/55/18s on them to save $$ and it will keep all my ratios/speedo issues about the same. Its just too bad the brand of tire I want doesn't make them in a 60 cuz then the ratio/speedo would be exactly the same.
