Largest tire on Lifted Expedition.

I've tried the search but it just keeps giving me grief about using too common words!!

But anyway.

I've got a 98 Expedition with 16 x 8 American Racing Baja's. Right now I'm running 265/75/16 with a 2 inch lift. I'm adding another 3 inch lift (body lift) this or next week, and want to know what size tire a guy could run with no rubbing. I was looking at a 285/75, but my wife thinks I will wish I had gone bigger and will be dissapointed with 33's. What's a safe 35 ish size tire that will go on to an 8 inch rim and not rub with 5 inches of lift. The Baja's run about the same as factory backspacing, and I really like them, so I'd like to keep em. Are any of you running a similar setup?

Did some more looking. I guess the 305/75/16 is about a 34 inch tire. The 315/75/16 works out to 34.6 inches. Pretty dang close. Maybe the 305 is the way to go.

you should be able to fit a 35" with the bodylift. All comes down to how much tire you want stuffed in the wheelwells It would be nice if the shop would mount one up for you and stick it on the front and then check for clearance issues while turning and flexing.

Has anyone ever heard of or had a set of these Commando`s? I`m looking at a set of 315/75/16`s. They look pretty decent in the pic, and the price is def. right. Anyone have an opinion or review? They are about $100 cheaper than the BFG AT`s, and that`s alot when you X by 4!!!

Keep in mind I`m running Roughrider M+S right now which are probably bottom of the barrel tires, so anything is probably better. They are just too damn small!!! My truck is pretty much a pavement princess, but I do like the more aggressive look and we get A LOT of snow.

Change of plan.. Bought some 35 inch Hankook Dynapro RF10 All Terrains. Just didn't want to invest in a tire I had never heard of before. I guess the Commando's are a Cooper House brand tire. I trust Hankook a little more.
