Reverse Light Solutions?

Has anyone noticed how crappy the reverse lights are on the newer F150's? I mean they really really suck...you almost wouldn't even know they were on most of the time.

I've thought about hooking up auxiliary lights, but I was hoping there might be a cheaper and easy solution. My latest thinking is maybe replace the stock bulbs with some LED's from something like superbrightleds.com?

Just from an appearance standard I would try to find a brighter bulb or else try to hide the auxiliary lights very well. I don't know what the case is on the 09+ trucks but the reverse lights are very bright on my 05'. I know from trolling several forums installing some extra backup lights isn't hard.

Never really noticed or gave it much thought to be honest, but what the hell, a swap out to an LED might be worth a shot.

Definitely a cheaper/easier alternative to mounting and wiring a new set of lights on the back bumper.

LEDs are much brighter. I installed them after tinting the glass on my Ranger.
Besides, the stock bulbs looked yellow with my Recon light bar.

Revers light is most likely a 3156.

Here is a link to find all the bulb numbers for most vehicles.

I have noticed the reverse bulbs suck, and anyone that tinted there side windows would even notice it more, I had a set of 55 watt off road fogs mounted under my bumper and tapped into the reverse wire, made a huge difference in lighting but members on here said it looked like crap so I took them off, any aotu parts store should be able to get the l.e.d bulb you need.

I asked about the bulb type on the F150 because my SD has a 921/168/T10 bulb. I use a CREE 7w LED bulb in the T10 style....direct replacement. If you search on eBay for CREE + your bulb number, you should get a bunch of results. The CREE bulbs are stupid bright.
