In Dash Nav.

I've been researching in dash, double din, touch screen head units - to replace the 6 CD changer unit in my 2007 lariat.

Lots to choose from, and lots of great information out there - but I'm having trouble finding what I'm looking for.

I don't need "i-product" compatibility - because I don't own any - nor do I need any bluetooth connectivity.

In order of importance, I'd like:

1 - Great sound, with at least one out for the sub-woofer. Sound would be the #1 consideration for me.
2 - Navigation - updatable and expandable.
3 - rear A/V in for my MP3 player, and a rear video in for a reverse camera.

Can anyone suggest a model that might be more what I'm looking for?

TIA!

Doubletap, I have a Kenwood DNX9140 unit in my truck.

I'll be honest, I've had my moments with it, especially with the iPod interface, but since you're not looking for that feature you would be golden.

The navigation is done by Garmin, so it's "natural".

While the deck is capable, I don't use the rear input functions so I can't comment there.

Good luck in your search!

Thank you for the input - I appreciate it. I run a hand-held Garmin for geo-caching, mushroom picking, and other backwoods activities, and I agree its one of the best nav systems.

After a lot of reading, I've narrowed it down to one of the Kenwoods or the Clarion NX501 (which was about the only non-Kenwood that got good reviews).

Thank you again, Blue Oval!
