Sirius Sat Renewal Pricing ???

I know in the US some of my friends have been able to get great pricing for Sirius when renewing their initial subscriptions. Many have been able to get the "all in package" for less than $100 /yr. Has anyone here in Canada been able to wheel 'n deal for a discount on Sirius after you initial subscription expires?

They should throw you a bone with some incentives before your initial subscription expires, and if you get them on the phone and threaten to de-activate, they'll just about break their own arm off and beat themselves with it to get you to stay as a subscriber.

I called to cancel mine, they threw an offer for three months free.

I said, No thanks, don't really use it much anymore.

She comes back with....OK, how about 6 months free.

This went on until I ended up getting the equivalent of two years for the price of one.

Weird shit, still don't listen to it much anymore, but what the hell, two years for the price of one was good enough for casual listening.

I'd be satisfied with just the US channel line up instead of the stripped down Canadian list.

Do you suppose if you bought the receiver in the US and activated it you'd get the full lineup?

I have been running a couple of US receivers since 05. I'm not sure what the differences are of stripped down Cdn vs. US channels are?? Let me know if there is something specific you want to know about the US lineup I am receiving. I don't have (nor want) the best of XM package.

Phil, I guess what I was referring to with my "stripped down" comment was as a listener of Raw Dog Comedy I keep hearing advertisements for new channel "Dirty Dog". After a couple weeks of not getting it on my radio, I looked at the online listing and it's only available to US subscribers (and is only online, bummer) But when I looked at the list of US channels there are a bunch of sports (play by play) channels in the low 200s, NHL, PGA.

After looking a little closer at the US list, perhaps it wasn't a fair comment as most of the high number US channels aren't stuff that I would listen to anyway. I was just disappointed when I looked and discovered the extra sports stuff that we can't get here.
