remote control 98 f150

Hello to all,

During the purchase of the truck I had no remote control supplied, I thus wonder if there was originally.

Know you a means to know it ?

What do I have to pay attention if I order it on eBay or others seller ?

thank's for help.

I bought a pair of remotes for my truck off e bay about 1 month ago
they came with the instructions to program them to match the truck's alarm

however I had no luck with the programing , granted it was really cold and dark so I only tryed quickly a couple of times

instead I just pryed them open like I was going to swap the batterys - and changed the circut boards inside them - now they work

you have to be carefull to read the adds right
some will be a complete remote - some will be only a replacement shell with no parts inside to make them work

I think your truck would also use the 3 button remote like mine - lock, unlock & panic
if you check enough e bay adds you will find they come in black , red or blue

More then one way. Lol

Programming directions

Quote:
To program the transmitters yourself:

Insert a key in the ignition and turn from 3(Off) to 4(On) eight times in rapid succession (within 10 seconds) with the eighth turn ending in the 4(On) position.

The doors will lock/unlock to confirm that programming mode has been entered.

Within 20 seconds, program a remote transmitter by pressing any button on a transmitter. The doors will lock/unlock to confirm that the remote transmitter has been programmed. (If more than 20 seconds pass before pressing a remote transmitter button, the programming mode will exit and the procedure will have to be repeated.)

Repeat the previous step to program additional remote transmitters. The doors will lock/unlock to confirm that each remote transmitter has been programmed.

When you have completed programming the remote transmitters, turn th ignition to 3(Off) or wait 20 seconds. Again the doors will lock/unlock to confirm programming has been completed.

hello i have purchased the remote and test programming but not great for me.

it's not possible for me to enter to the programming mode, i turn the key 8 times and nothing work?

i just insert the key (Pos 3?) and turn to the position just before start engine (pos 4) and that doesn't work for me.

I made the test correctly or not ?

Turn the key off and on to acc 7-8 times not to the run position this will get the for locks jumping up and down when. This happens hold the lock button on your remote and they should work after that
