Subwoofer

I have a 2008 F150 with a single disc radio that will not run the factory subwoofer I bought. Does anyone know if the 6 disc radio is the upgrade I need in order to run this subwoofer. (truck is prewired) Thanks..

So lets break this down.
Truck came per-wired for sub, but no sub?
You added the sub just recently?
has it worked at all?
Is there a sub/amp fuse that needs to be installed if the truck didnt come with it installed?
Have you pulled the radio to make sure the harnesses are plugged into it?

When I added an upgraded Premium Stereo and Sub to my 04, the wiring harness was not there. Any truck that had certain options, received the wiring harness and you could find the connector to the sub by digging around under the rear carpet.

The stereo itself should have 3 plug outlets, one for aux connection like a DVD player, the main ouputs and the sub output. The regular unit will not have the sub outlet.

Yes you need to get a deck that has the extra output on the back for the sub.I recently sold mine but I see the guy has it up for sale on kijiji for $125.he bought it for a customer but I guess he changed his mind.
