Look for Mobile Electronics Certified Professional (MECP) certification....3 levels (Installer, Advanced and Master).

Hey David,
It's good to see a shop having it, but it's not required to install a remote starter. Only 310k or mechanic's license.

I have MECP Advanced (silver). Never went for master as I switched jobs.

MECP exam will test you more in depth on resistors, relays, diodes, circuits etc. I think MECP should be required for remote starter installers IMO.

Ford or aftermarket?
What options did you get hooked up?

Nooooooo !!! My gf worked in Service Dept at Norlan and in fall she had 5 or 6 vehs where FS screwed up the wiring and the veh needed all new elec harness. FS may be good else where, but I wouldnt let the GP store tighten a screw on my truck. Was probably just one installer, but still.

Can't win them all C. I haven't had anything done at Future Shop here for a few years. They used to have a really good Shop Foreman but he went to Red Deer to run their shop. Echo AVU only place in town for Dodge products due to Chrysler computer BS.

Such is life. Just passing through.
