Unhappy CD Player wont take the CD's?

My truck is almost like a women, tell her to do something and she does the opposite or doesn't do it at all, or say please God don't be Bogging out on this hill and sure enough she does, truck needs a mighty tune up, besides that, my CD player is only letting me put in the CD when its cold out? or when i first start the truck, and it will play all the time, but if im out to my favorite Cd and down the road i'm like meh lets change out the CD it ejects fine, but then the new one won't go in, it, It accepts it, makes a weird noise, and then ejects it.

I don't want to buy a cleaning kit if i don't have to , does anyone else have the same problem? (2000 Ford F150 4.6L)

My old mans 2001 f150 lariat did that. Well similar, it wouldn't take a cd at all.
Cheaper to buy an aftermarket and slap it in then to get a ford one.

But why would it only work out in the cold? is it because its "on its way out"?

Must likely.

I have changed many OEM players out due to unable to read discs.

Give it a few smacks and maybe it'll start doing what it's told.
