Kenwood or Clarion or other

I have decided that I am going to replace the factory radio in my 2009 with a double din with nav and all the bells and whistles. Just wondering which brands everyone has had good luck with.

I am looking at the Kenwood DNX692 eXcelon 2-DIN Multimedia W/Navigation/Bluetooth. Found it for $729.99 at Megatronix in Toronto.

And then have also found a couple Clarions for a hundred dollars or so less but was not sure if this is for a reason. First is NX405 $649.99 and second is NX-604 $599.99

Funny enough, I find some unknown brands, like Freeway, have more bells and whistles for a lot less money.

I've been running a Clarion nx500 for a few years now. It's been a fairly solid unit. The nav section is from Horizonnav and there is almost no support and only one map update since I bought it. That would be something to look into since gps units come with lifetime free maps now and you don't want to be buying new head units every two years.

Wow, no help from me, last unit I bought was an Alpine CD player for my '85 Cutlass twenty some odd years ago.

I recall I was very impressed it had the removable face plate as a theft deterrent. lol

I had a few Kenwood Decks in Mustangs and F150's. The interface was great and intuitive to use and the sound was awesome.

Keep in mind one main point that everyone misses, it's a truck, not a concert hall. Never has been, never will be. Too much glass to reverb against.

I previously had a Kenwood DNX9140 and loved the fact that the navigation was Garmin.
