Swapping head unit and hvac

I have a 2008 xlt w/xtr package. I was thinking about upgrading my factory deck to the factory 6 disc and the climate control panel to the digital auto one, the auto climate control unit has buttons for heated seats which I do not. Are all the plugs the same, is this an easy swap?

Thanks for the replies. The HVAC looks like it will be more work than I care to do lol. The radio if it is plug and play would be sweet but I got thinking would that affect my sirius?

Don't know if sirius is part of the unit, if it is ................ you have to pull the radio out to see if the module is part of it or not, and make sure the new radio has a sirius button

Darn! I was hoping someone had attempted to upgrade their climate control.

I used to own a 2004 Ford Excursion - still wished I owned it. I picked up a 2004 F-350 King Ranch last night with the manual HVAC controls and was interested in attempting an upgrade. I loved the automatic controls in the Excursion.

I might ask the dealership if they know what is involved, but I fear that they might not have answers for anything veering too far from their flow charts.

Does anyone here perhaps know what is involved and is just holding out so far on the requirements?
