2009 Ranger FX4 - DRL Relay

Hi All,

Does anyone know if there is a DRL relay on a 2009 Ford Ranger? If so where it's located? I went over the owner's manual and it doesn't list it at all. I don't want to disable the DRL just want my fogs as the DRL.

Thanks in advance.

iirc playing with the relay wont do what you want.

i pulled the relay on my f150 and all the lights are off unless i turn the switch to on. youll have to get a wiring diagram and take the power thats going to the hot side of your drl relay and send it to the hot side of the fog light relay. pulling it out entirely won't work

On my 08 ranger FX4, I asked the dealer if there was a fuse so I could just pull it out. He said it was a module, uncontrolable.

on my sd the relay was on the driverside header panal. Mine are unplugged to save my HID's but in order to just run your fogs you'll have to rewire it I would think

Yeah this is exactly what I want to do. I've found the fog light relay as it lists it on the manual, but I can't locate the relay for the DRL or any of the headlights. I'm wondering now if they go via relay at all. If not maybe I'll take the DRL hot feed from the switch and wire it to the foglight relay.

i'll take a picture of where it is on my f150, but i have no idea if it will be in the same place on the ranger. If it's not, then i'm sure shelby would be able to shed some light

A little off topic but may help others. I had an 2001 Ranger Edge. DRL module is behind the front bumper on the drivers side. To remove the daytime running lights taking out the fuse will cause your hi beam indicator to stay on. The only way to effectively remove the DRL (on the ranger at least) is to cut the inward power feed wire (yellow/green). I am planning on trying this mod on my 2002 F350 SD. Will post soon (I have to find the dang thing first).

the drl control is integral to the sjb(fuse box)and uses the same wiring as the low headlamps, and is non programmable

a moments silence for the shelbyx,i hope her new owner enjoys as much.
