Took me about 3 hours of design.
then couple hours to get it on the wood and put it together.

I picked up a couple Pioneer shallow mount subs for cheap. possibly blown, but they both pop. so have to see how they turn out.
Pioneer Shallow Mount 12" Sub - TS-SW301

the box has about 0.78 cu. ft of air space minus the displacement of the sub.. It's a very shallow box, but if you've seen under the seat of any of the trucks you'll see their isn't much room.

As you can see the box fits like a glove under there, with a small amount of play. Just enough to put on some carpet an finish her off.

Hope it sounds as good as it looks.

I know of another member that wants one of his own. .

That sub needs .5-1.0 cube of air so you should sqeak in over the minumum.

Do you still have a little air space behind the magnet? I don't imagine it needs alot, the sub is under 4" deep, quite amazing actually.

What amp are you going to power it with?

Based on the positioning in the picture, you are down firing it, right?

I'll be interested to hear your impression of it!

I haven;t bought an amp for it yet.
I'm borrowing a Rockford P300-1 to test it. It's a mono that rated at [email protected] but it puts out [email protected] 4ohms. so it will work for testing purposes.

Yes downfiring.

well only the edge gets close to the inside of the box and there is about 1/4" at the closest point. So it will be fine.

I was going to go ported, but couldn't get enough air space. aswell the sub's fs and QAS make the sub work better for sealed subs anyways.

ps.

I did my own air space calculation. as I was using some on-line calculators to give me a referenc point. it actually works out to be .803cu ft.

so It's got plently of space. as this sub doesn't take up very much space in comparsion to a standard sub. (as per the point of the sub)

I think I'll get away with about .65 cu ft.
