bought a 2010 Lariat today....need help on swap.

I just bought the 2010 Lariat, and traded in the Super Cab XLT.

I don't have the navigation.

I was wondering where to look if wanted to swap out the radio to ford's navigation setup.

First of congrats on the new Truck.

I do not belive it is an easy swap to put in the Nav system, and as far as I know you can only buy it from Ford.

Going aftermarket may not be that simple either. Not sure there is a trim piece available for the 09+ Trucks. Plus you will lose the Sync integration, which to me is a deal breaker.

Did you buy one of the lot? Did they not have another one with Nav?

I'm with hogdust on this one, unfortunately it's becoming more and more difficult to "aftermarket" options into new vehicles.

I had no option but to put an aftermarket nav unit in my ranger simply because Ford doesn't offer nav in the small trucks and every day I use it it makes me want a new truck with full nav and sync that much more.

I think your only option is to ask the dealer, be prepared for a really big number, because there is probably a ton of things that would have to integrate to make the system work, and they may not all be roughed in.

Is it possible for a a dealer to do a navigation oem install on the truck.

I bought the truck under the ford employee pricing, and I had a choice of the platnium and the lariat. They have no more lariats on the lot with navigation option.

This local dealership believes not ordering vehicles with the extra frills.

Yes the dash part is available.

Pretty much sums it up. I'd be shopping elsewhere next time - spending that much on a new truck, I wouldn't be settling for second best.

Some options are a piece of cake to do after the sale, but this is not one of them, but that's just me.
