Regen and wrench light

Today on my drive home from work, my truck started to clean exhaust filter. After a couple of minutes the wrench light came on. It continued to cleaning the exhaust. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Its a 08 6.4. Thanks

Does it have DEF and did it deplete the DEF fluid during the regen?

You would know, there is a seperate fill cap right beside the diesel fuel fill cap. I just wasn't sure if that year of truck had the DEF tanks yet.

I had the wrench show up on my F150 at one point and it didn't affect the performance at all, it went away at the next start up. The manual does explain certain conditions where the wrench will come on. It is supposed to put the engine into "Limp Home" tune mode so it is still drivable and doesn't leave you stranded.

I would hook up and OB2 reader and get the code thrown or have a Ford tech tell you just what system is giving grief to the point of throwing the wrench code on.

It could be the Muffler Bearing, I hear there were week on that year of truck
