Turbo cleaning?

Has anyone tried cleaning their turbo. Seems like mine is a little sluggish lately and read that the VGT turbo can be cleaned to free up some sticky vanes.

Is this practical or should i be on the look out for a good deal on a new one?

I don't think it's a tough job for someone that is mechanically inclined. Just takes a while. I have seen a step by step process posted somewhere.

I saw the step by step somewhere also. I was just wondering if it was really worth the effort is all.

it is a common concern, but if the turbo and egr are "coking"you may have other concerns(misfires, sensor concerns, extended idling cold weather)

a moments silence for the shelbyx,i hope her new owner enjoys as much.

Doesn't run rough, or have any issue other than when i really stomp on it, it seems more sluggish than usual. Sounds like the turbo is spooling up fine just not getting up and going like it should.

I'm planning an EGR delete at some point anyway maybe do the delete and make an attempt at cleaning the turbo and see what happens.
