change motors

i was wondering if i could put my 4.2 engine and tranny in a truck that has a blown 4.6 v8 i have both truck i was wondering if it can be done

anything can be done for the right amount of $$


why not look for another 4.6 ? there a dime a dozen at the wreckers and rebuilts are fairly cheap, the hassel with doing the swap would outweigh the costs of another 4.6

Off the top of my head, you'll need the main harness from the 4.2, the PCM from the 4.2. Also the bell housing for the tranny on the 4.6 bolts differently to the motor so you'd have to take the bell housing off of the 4.2 if you want to use the tranny from the 4.2 in the V8 truck.

Don't forget the motor mounts may be different as well
