Grinding Noise

There is weird grinding noise on start up. brand new battery, brand new starter. We think its the fly wheel not sure.

After i put the key in and turn it, a grinding noise(kinda like a duck being strangled to make sense of it lol) occurs. it may happen three times in a row pull the key out, get out for a sec put it back in and it starts, sometimes i start it, does the grinding, retry and it starts. Only does it on occassion but has never done it in the past. Any one got any ideas on what it could be thanks.

Pull the starter out and check the gear that mates up to the fly wheel maybe its damaged also test the starter it may be a POS

Don't forget to make sure the wires on the new starter are still in good shape and well connected

I only drive in the city, to get out of it!!!

it might be the wire as i did have a wire problem a while ago. they only replaced the started but the noise is completly different if it was that problem, as it would even try to turn over it would just be a high pitch clunk sound (cant explain good :p) and not this grinding. Gonna pull the starter out soon if i cant think of anything. So far i havent had the problem again in 4 days (knocks on wood).
