Question fan cowling

Hey guys quick question. If I am trying to remove the fan cowling do I also need to remove the fan as well? Because I tried and it seems like the cowling will not fit around the rotors on the fan.

When removing the fan will I need to use the clutch tool?

Oh, by the way it's a 2005 fx4 with the 5.4l.

I think if i get that clutch tool removing the fan would be a lot less complicated and get me closer to my goal of changing the water pump.

removing fan makes more sense and will give you the room needed to remove waterpump.

a moments silence for the shelbyx,i hope her new owner enjoys as much.
