4.6 -4.6 engine swap

Has anyone considered or tried swapping a 4.6 out of a stang into their F-150? Im looking at gains. 300 BHP and 320 Lb/Ft torque. And considering the aftermarket availability over the F-150. I would think tis would have been tried already but havent really found anything out about it yet. Dont get me wrong, I aint ripping my engine out tomorrow ar anything but just crossed my mind and looking for a little insight.

What year of F150 do you want to do this to? I'm sure it would be a lot easier to do in a 04-08 than in a 03 or older. You'd be gaining nearly 70hp and 30ft/lbs of torque. I say if you can do it go for it.

for the trouble why not just have your motor worked over and get even more HP for the $$ ?

the stang motor would probably make it's power and torque too high up in the rpm range to make it worthwhile in a truck....the lower the rpm for both is more desirable.

swapping the cams would fix that

there is a lot of mods you can do to step up a 4.6 truck engine, would be a lot easier than retrofitting a 3v 4.6 into a 4.6 2v,lots of cams, exh, superchargers, heads, stroker kits availiable.m2c

a moments silence for the shelbyx,i hope her new owner enjoys as much.

like he said lol

also u can drop 3 valve heads on your 2v truck motor.... or even 4 valve if you want... $$ wise theres lots of available 2valves that will do the trick.... i hear trickflow is coming out with a set that flows some sweet numbers (big hp applications) also Patriot Performance makes a good product

lol... oh dont get me wrong, I like my truck just the way it is. I was just thinking about this one day and figured it wouldnt be a bad way to raise the power a little. As taisa899 mentioned, swapping cams would bring the power curves back into a truck worthy range and I have seen a lot of cracked up stangs in the boneyards with engines worth pulling. Like I said, just a mid day ponder, wanted some other opinions on it or to see if it had been done.
