Oil in Intake. F150 SVT Harley

Hi guys ..

A Gent on a UK site is having problems with his Supercharged F150.

Quote:
The truck fired up, ran fine, but then as I put it into drive and moved off, it sputtered, shuddered and was nearly stalling.......

Upon investigating it... I took off the airfilter, and was discovered with ALOT of oil in the airfilter pipe......... coming from the throttle body.... is that Normal???? or is there a big problem happening.

My oil level is fine, the oil pressure gauge shows fine, but It's spluttering..... Any idea's on why there is oil there and what could be wrong?

This is the Truck.

Any Help would be appreciated ..

Thanks allot ..

Ross

Ross, off the top of my head I don't have a suggestion, but if you can, check out www.NHTOC.com, there might be an answer on one of their forums.
"Blairtruck" has a supercharged model, he might have seen this before.

Common problem with all supercharged Harleys and lightnings. Oil is coming through
PCV system and the truck needs an oil sererator installed. First thing you will have to
do after installing a seperator is pull the supercharger and intercooler and clean the
intercooler because it will be plugged with oil. Not a terribly difficult job but not fun
either. There are numerous threads about this on any of the Lightning or Harley sites
with step by step instructions.

Happens to all Harley's/lightnings
An oil seperator is needed to stop the oil bypass.

Here is a cheap one around 30$ i think. Needs to be emptied all the time

Here is the one i have. Has to be emptied but looks way nicer. aound 175$ Made by DMR-racing.net

Here is the one OHMYHOG has. Not as nice looking. But no maintenece it just drains back into the system i think 200$. Made by l&sauto.com

Cleaning the maf and throttle body will probably get him running a little better until
he does the other work. While the supercharger is off is a great time for new plugs !!

and Mad enterprise coil pack screws. Makes it 100 times easier to change the plugs the next time, without having to take the supercharger off.

Coil Pack Screws
If you click this link the truck also has an L & S oil separator on it.
