im looking to get inside of a 4.0 sohc and i was wondering if anyone knows some of the specs for the cylinder heads, combustion chamber and such. i want to see if plaining the deck of the block and/or heads would change the compression significantly. i already know that it is and interference engine, so i wonder if anyone has tried this and had an issue with valves?
mitchell, prosis and all data give me the cylinder head spec to be 68cc and supersix motorsports says the pistons are 0.010 below the deck at TDC and are supposed to be flat top pistons, and that site also says its a 9.7:1 compression. mitchell and prosis dont list anything about compression ratio.
so heres what im looking for, correct me if im wrong:
Bore - 100.4mm
Stroke - 84.4mm
Head cc - 65.197cc +- 2.068-2.018cc
piston deck clearance 0.010"
head gasket thickness 0.030"
head gasket bore - 106.4mm??
flat top pistons - Y
