·To begin I am an Industrial Mechanic or Millwright as most people call them and a year or so ago I installed a bypass oilfilter on all the hydraulic tanks in the plant. The reason for this was to illiminate 1-3<micron particals in the oil. That got me thinking. A standard Fram oil filter has a filtration of 30 microns so you could imagine all the the other stuff getting through the filtration which is when I put a bypass oil filter from Filtaclean in my f-150. When I last changed the oil 3k or so ago which was the first change after the bypass was installed the oil was still golden in color which tells me that I'm sending extremely clean oil through my engine. I will also be doing this to my 302 Ranger. The gentleman who approached me at the plant has told me that BMW, the newer ones, which he owns one has this system installed from factory and the warranty/maintenance schedule recommends oil change every 20K. I find this hard to believe but I just thought I would let you all in.
