Welcome to the forum, sorry, that part always cracks me up, lol.

I'm sure I'd really "Wow" the other entrants with my list of Mods:
- Plug-in I-pod adapter
- Tonneau Cover
- Deer Whistles

My Wheelskin is en-route from CA, maybe I could get that sewn on in time...

What did you get in order to use the ipod with factory unit?

Canadian Tire - Lighter Outlet plug-in FM Modulator. Got it on sale for $10, works real good (only get the odd bit of static under Hi-voltage power lines).

Can't justify $150 for the adapter to the AUX input on the stock head-unit.

As an aside, the truck's manual says not to plug appliances into the lighter plug (use the 12v outlets instead), however, if you use the 12v plug, it is inconvenient to reach over to change the song, etc. Will this harm the truck/i-pod, etc.?
The only reason why they tell you that is because of the fuse for cig. lighter uses 20A
therefor doesn't have proper protection, and if you have a short it may burn your cord (or dash).
Fuse for Aux plug is only 10amps
I use it all the time

I have spent the money for the AUX adapter and it doesn't work, I now use a FM modulator for iPod an stilleto.
Thanks for the input on the cig lighter vs. 12v issue guys.

Also, I've seen an adapter at Can Tire (geezz, you'd think I have stock in them) that supposedly lets you control the I-pod from the head unit, and will scroll song info on the head unit screen... $130... I'm very skeptical.
Wow dude.. Nice truck!!: )

We almost have twins.. :icon_wink:

We do almost have twins... I see you got a great deal on yours too - I paid $20k for mine (43,000km). Nothing like saving $20,000 by having some else drive it for the first 3 years... (it was a lease return).

I'm enjoying seeing all your mods - with 2 kids, a wife on mat leave, and a mortgage, there's not a lot left over for the truck (besides gas), so I'll live vicariously through you guys.
I've only got the stock radio/tape deck in mine..whats an Ipod? :icon_lol:
for the amount spent wouldn't it have been better to get an aftermarket deck? then you could get better clarity and better sound quality.
No, not in my case. I have the Audiophile system which is useless with aftermarket deck, so $130 - $160 vs New deck/amp/speakers/subs....

I only spent $10 on the FM Modulator... and I also like the look of the stock stereo... although I have seen a couple of the 2-din dvd systems mounted that look real sharp...
