Some of you know that my bro and I have a mini-stock Mustang that we race at Flamboro Speedway. We have one of our cousin son's as the driver and he is 18 and he is going into his 4th year if racing. He had an AWESOME year last yr by finishing 5th in points and also was the "Most Improved Driver" in the MIni-stocks class!!!!
The track as an practice day on April 21st and we start racing on the 28th. Here is a picture of the car from last year and it will be basically the same paint scheme this year:

Our wants to take the year off and be ready to race in 09!!! We had a rough year, especially with the motor and our driver has plans to rebuild the motor. Since we had his dad's business as the sponsor, since the dad's passing the business has been closed down. SO...He wants to get a really good sponsor(s) when he start racing again. I really hope that he can get a couple of really good sponsor's so he can go racing in 09!!!!

Some of you know that I have teamed up with the Late Model driver this year as his race team photographer!! We have had a very up and down season with some very odd nights and also have won 3 features. If on the odds nights we would be having an AWESOME year. BUT....last night was a night to remember for me personally, because we won the feature by about 20 car lengths. In the past 2 feature wins our driver has given the trophy to a crew member. After last night feature win and going thru tech and then going back to our pit area. Our driver did the samething last night and I was the lucky crew member to get the trophy and was very surprised and shocked to get the trophy. That is the very first time ANYBODY has done that to me and made me feel very proud to be included on his crew. Can't wait to see what happens rest of the 08 race season!!!

I just wanted to post about this Saturday night racing because is going to be a cool night(weather permitting) our my driver's dad(Gary Elliott). Gary has been racing at flamboro Speedway for 40 years in 3 different classes. I can't remember everything that is happening BUT he is what I know:
-Late Models will have a 40 lap feature
-He giving away 6 bikes to some lucky kids
-Giving every LM driver a gift that show up

Ths classes that will be racing are:
Mini Stocks
Tunder Cars
Late Models
Canadian Vintage Modifieds(use to be known as the Hobby cars)

Thought I would say how it went last night and there was ALOT of attentoin to Gary by being interviewed number of time and special presentations by both his team and his son's team. Then the speedway had a presentation and other stuff like that. One cool thing was Gary gave every LM driver 40 bucks and every driver gave it back so Gary to put in his favorite charity!!
NOW...to the racing Gary started pole in his heat race and finished 2nd. Then his son started 2nd in his heat race and made it look easy on the pass and then the heat win. SO....for the LM feature Gary started 5th and David(son) started 3rd. It only took David a few laps to get the lead and Gary was making good progress also. About on lap 10 Gary caught David and they were racing 1&2 for most of the race. With only a 10 laps left David went into turn 3 alittle to hard and pushed up and then Gary had enough to pass David. David couldn't get enough to pass his dad and they ended up 1&2 and we couldn't have planned if we tried. Then Gary was racing in his old race in the Vintage Modifed(or Hobby car) and Gary finished 5th in that feature was starting near the rear of the field.

O YEAH...Gary grandson racing Go Karts Saturday morning and he finished 4th overall, so the family had a great day of racing!!!!

THANKS Larry and that was a very great night and glad to be a part of it!!!

Just wanted to update about the racing at Flamboro Speedway this weekend....Here in the Hamilton area got ALOT of rain yesterday and racing was canceled and suppose to race today. It was raining here alttle bit ago and the track has postponed racing today and rescheduled for Aug 24th. Since this is the 3rd & final race of the triple crown series for the late models and going to try it on the 24th!!! The main reason for the track to cancel this weekends racing is all the water in the spectator parking lot and in the pits!!!

Just wanted to post that we are racing 2 more weekends at Flamboro and that is Sept. 27(last reg night) and then on Oct 4&5 is last big weekend of racing at Flamboro(Octoberfest).

We were suppose to race this past Sat. night BUT the weather had other plans. BUT we did have a sponsor appearance at the Wal-mart in Ajax for there Pennzoil Tire & Lube Express!!! Had a great time there and made some kids really happy by having a chance to set in the car and getting a autograph pic of the driver!!! I know of one kid that made his day by doing that because his mom sent an email to the driver about meeting a real race car driver and seeing a real race car!!!

WELL....this year we are racing at Delaware Speedway near London and the rain has been a real pain by only raced one Friday night, even didn't get that night's full schedule in because of R**N. The late models are about 3 or 4 nights behind because of the weather. Delaware has a special weekend of racing and the LM are off. We did get one feature race on the and for us it was a good thing it did r**n on the orginal night because we had some major issues by breaking a right rear axle. Got it replace and was really for the 50 Lap feature BUT it wasn't driving good and we ended up being 2 laps down and then the r**n came and the track had to postpone for the following Fri night. We got our car fixed and for the next night and had a great practice and it was time to finish that 50 l race. Delaware is NASCAR local track this year and they have the Lucky Dog rule, that was great for us. We main up one lap when the green came out and then made up the other lap at the next caution. Within 5 laps we were back on the lead lap and making great progress to the front and after a coming into the pits for minor changes and really got the car driving good. Our driver was able to finish Top 5 in 4th place finish and driver and team was VERY happy with that finish!!!

SO...we are making are 1st of 3 appearance at Flamboro Speedway for there Grisdale triple crown series. If you don't know what that is, this a 3 race series. The main change is that the race is now 75 laps instead of 50L and hoping to do well in these 3 race series!!!! Looks like the weather will be good for tomorrow night and that will be a nice change for us!!!!
