We like to give you the inside scoop. Ford is about to launch this new "Social" website. Here is what they told us ...

"Today we are excited to announce the launch of www.fordpoweredbyyou.ca – a completely new venture in the rapidly evolving online space in what is a cornerstone of our powered by you brand strategy.

This activity places Ford of Canada first into the arena of online social media and the growing popularity of user generated content on the web. This dialogue is already occurring online in the rapidly growing space of so called "social media" - this is our way of joining that conversation, tapping into consumer sentiment, and giving consumers a voice.

The primary goal of this website is to empower consumers by facilitating dialogue in the areas of design, environment, and technology – three key pillars of our powered by you marketing communications strategy.

The site content will be managed, monitored and moderated by a professional editorial team that will encourage consumers to submit their own topics, ideas and conversation starters.

It certainly wont be a competiton to the open and informed dialogue on here but none the less interesting that they are embracing new technology. The user agreement tells you they will be monitoring and editing. I have not seen any other maker attempt. Has anyone else?
