Hey everybody, any one into the radio control scene??

I just got hooked by getting a friends 1/8th scale Kyosho Landmax (an AWD Notro powered unit) for free. Just replaced the engine and radio gear and had it running today. She runs a .25 CC motor (approx. 2.5 HP running at 24000 rpm) and man she can move.

I have always had the "retail store" versions but never had the "hobby shop" versions, man what a difference.

I will have to post some pictures of the "beast".

I actually got my first nitro truck last year.. mid october..

HPI Savage X w/ F4.1 - 1/8th Monster Truck
-I got hooked on it really quick.. I've done many upgrades too it since then..
which now is awaiting for a shock to get fixed..

And just this past spring I picked up a used
Traxxas T-Maxx 2.5 - 1/8th Monster Truck
-It doesn't have near the power of the Savage but it does have a smaller engine, although I do love the reverse.

I got the nitro truck to keep me from spending money on my car. A hobby to spend my money on instead of my money pit car..

Since then I've got my F150 and haven't drove the trucks too much.. but the t-maxx is still in need of repairs/ upgrades.. (I have all new upgrades A-Arms to go on the back)

As long as you have the space for them.. (which is quite a bit for these big guys) They are a blast!! Untill they break. :icon_rolleyes:

Holy cow Grafix Inc, is there anything your not into!!!

Pretty great looking stuff. Now I have another source for info when I break something.

I am running the .25 Savage motor (it originally had a .21) that my other buddy pulled from his Savage (he wanted the .28 instead).

I know what you guy's are saying about the "money pit" part, I cannot beleive the costs of some of the upgrades that people are running.

I will have to be careful what I spend or I will be sleeping outside!!

Used to have a few electrics and one nitro... the nitro was the Kyosho Dodge Ram. POS. All plastic suspension meant broken parts EVERY time I went out. Ended up melting the end off the connecting rod and chucked everything in the garbage.

Most recently, I've been playing with elec. R/C planes... lots of fun, but learning by yourself is tricky (read- expensive :))
