This question is about my 2013 FX4.

While in 4x4 high and the wheels are turned sharply, like backing out of the driveway, then turning the wheels to straighten out the truck does not what to move. If i give it more gas it seems to be fighting its self to move. It chatters and shakes. This happens either in reverse or drive. Going strieght is no problem. While this is happening if i shift to 2x4 with the wheels turned i have the same issue until you go straight for a bit.

Is there a problem with the 4x4 or just me??

Thanks for any infoo

All the 4x4 Trucks I have had did this as well. Your turning radios is reduced so you need to straighten out a bit when it starts.

On my 2015 it is not as pronounced anymore so looks like they are improving things.

I thought that design was changed years ago.

I wouldn't say there's a problem.

If you are in 4wd and their isn't much snow, mud, gravel or slippage of traction it will bind and not want to turn.

4x4 isn't like all wheel drive, it wants to pull you forward with lots of torque. If you are experiencing the binding and hopping you likely don't need to be in 4x4.

Get the CV joints on the front axle checked. Your axles sound like they're misaligned.
